Experience hundreds of butterflies in flight as you walk through our native butterfly greenhouse. Almost everyone appreciates the beauty of butterflies, but how much do you really know about them? Did you know that butterflies can’t hear? Like snakes, they sense vibrations through the surfaces they touch. Did you know butterflies are found everywhere but Antarctica; they taste with their feet; and some, like the Monarch, can migrate up to 2,000 miles? Visit us through October 31st to experience these delicate beauties in flight. Volunteer Positions Available. Interested in being a Butterfly Volunteer? Click here to download our Volunteer Application. Submit completed application in person at Clyde Peeling's Reptiland.
Memorial Day through Labor Day. Venom is an in-depth look at the marvels of animal poisons with an exciting lineup of dangerous creatures. See a cobra hood in defense and hear a timber rattlesnake rattle as you get a close-up look at these and other venomous reptiles. Also featuring a copperhead and gila monster. Third Weekend in October (15, 16, & 17) 2010. Friday night 6-9 pm (Shows at 6, 7, & 8 pm). Flashlight Safari is an
educational Halloween adventure. Learn how nocturnal animals survive in
darkness as you explore Reptiland at night by flashlight. Bring a flashlight
to see more than forty species of reptiles and amphibians in the comfort of
our indoor exhibit complex. Many animals only become active after dark and
this is your chance to peek in on their night lives. See alligator eyes
reflecting in the beam of your light, visit the outdoor pumpkin patch full of
beautifully carved pumpkins and touch live animals - including giant
cockroaches (if you wish).
