variety in nature. This daily program explores the interrelationships of
plants and animals and features a great horned owl, rat, box turtle, bat,
scorpion, cockroaches and a boa constrictor. Venom is an in-depth look at the marvels of animal poisons with an exciting lineup of dangerous creatures. See a cobra hood in defense and hear a rattlesnake rattle as you get a close-up look at these and other venomous reptiles.
Third Weekend in October (17, 18, & 19), 2008 Friday night 6-9pm
(Shows at 6, 7, & 8pm) Flashlight Safari is an educational Halloween adventure. Learn how nocturnal animals survive in darkness as you explore Reptiland at night by flashlight. Bring a flashlight to see more than forty species of reptiles and amphibians in the comfort of our indoor exhibit complex. Many animals only become active after dark and this is your chance to peek in on their night lives. See alligator eyes reflecting in the beam of your light, visit the outdoor pumpkin patch full of beautifully carved pumpkins and touch live animals - including giant cockroaches (if you wish).
The Tropical Rainforest: Nature's Hothouse
Last Two Weekends in April. Tropical rainforests are magical places where fiction meets reality to create exaggerated life forms. They are the most intense expressions of life on Earth. A visit to Reptiland during the last two weekends in April will introduce you to this unique and fragile ecosystem. The Tropical Rainforest - Nature's Hothouse is centered around a live show featuring animals from rainforests worldwide, including a kinkajou, fruit bat, giant millipede and marine toad. An authentic Indian blowgun is used to demonstrate an ancient hunting technique still used by some tribes in the Amazon Basin. Home
