6-Day Amazon Rainforest ExtensionThis trip is not currently scheduled. Typical Itinerary
Day 2 (Wed) - After breakfast, explore
the primary forest, learn about the endemic flora and fauna of the region. Your first
excursion will be a 3 hour walk in the primary forest including the nearby lake of Laguna
Grande where you will see a large variety of ancient trees, long lianas, giant palms,
bromeliads, orchids, monkeys Day 3 (Thu) - After breakfast, hike
through the jungle with naturalist guide who will discuss the use of medicinal plants. You
may see diurnal mammals, reptiles and birds. Lunch in the lodge. Afternoon canoe ride to
the Canangueno Lake. Good chances to admire Day 4 (Fri) - Early breakfast and bird watching. Visit the small settlement of Puerto Bolivar (Siona Indians). Lunch. Afternoon bird and butterfly watching and take a canoe to Grande Lake for an extraordinary sunset. After dark look for caimans while immersed in the nocturnal wildlife along the Cuyabeno River.
